Cheerleading Practice
- Summer 2006 Weekend Practices
- There are typically 3 mandatory 2 day practices held during the summer. They are usually held one weekend each month (May, June, and July). These practices provide an opportunity for the new team to have a chance to bond as well as teach the new members cheers, chants, band dances, stunts, and the fight song.
- UCA Summer Camp
- The regional UCA College Cheerleading Camp is held at the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania. This is a 3-4 day camp.
- First Week of Fall Semester
- During the first week of fall semester there are usually a few extra practices to get everyone ready for the beginning of the upcoming seasons and the first football game.
- Throughout the Academic Year
- Practices are held 2 or 3 times per week in Gampel Pavilion typically from 7 to 10pm. Both teams practice on foam cheerleading mats.
- Most practices will include, standing tumbling, running tumbling, partner stunts (co-ed and all girl), and mounts. Throughout the year, but particularly at the start of the new season, practices will focus heavily on learning and perfecting all cheers, chants, band dances and the fight song!
- Each team member is required to run a mile before every practice. One of the coaches will time each team member's miles a few times throughout the year, all women must be able to run it under 8 minutes to be allowed to cheer, men must run it under 7 minutes.
