Neal Kearney

Head Coach

Coach Kearney is a graduate of Northeastern University where he cheered and was captain for all four years. Neal was also a professional cheerleader with the New England Patriots for four years and is certified with the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Administrators (AACCA). When not coaching the Huskies, Neal is involved in judging at the state and national level with the Universal Cheerleading Association (UCA) and National Cheerleading Association (NCA). Neal is an administrator with the Connecticut Department of Correction.

Derron Forrest

Assistant Coach

Derron studied Exercise Physiology and Athletic Training at UCONN. He cheered for 5 years at UCONN where he also received his B.S. in physiology and Neurobiology and worked toward an M.S. in Biotechnology. "D" has been working UCA Staff for 15 years, 13 have been as a head instructor and is currently a member of the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Administrators (AACCA) and the United States All Star Federation (USASF). He was the head coach at the University of Hartford for 5 years and has been the assistant coach at UCONN for 11 years. He judges on the national, regional and state level, has choreographed for many nationally ranked high school teams and has given seminars on cheerleading related topics across the country. "D" has performed at the MDA Telethon in California for 3 years and the MTV Summer House for 1 year. "D" is the current CEO and owner of the new cheerleading company "Planet Stunt LLC". "D" is a lot of fun but tough when he has to be.
